Hemi Under Glass Last Ride
After 39 years at the wheel of one of the most famous and unusual cars in drag racing, the Hemi Under Glass, Bob Riggle decided to hang it up. We were there to capture the last runs of this iconic car and the driver who thrilled crowds at drag strips all over the country.

i got to see Bob, little red wagon, and the back up pickup in Amarillo Texas when i was about 10
I met Bob when he owned the local Kawasaki dealership 30 years ago. He really is a great man. I hope I’m half as active as he is still today when I’m his age.

What a cool video and awesome memories brought back to mind. These guys were real hot rodders , listening to the stories from the actual drivers is mind blowing ! It’s great hearing from the rodders that actually know what they are talking about !!!!!!!!!! American history 101 !
Great memories…thanks again…
I saw it run in Fontana California,
Amazingly stock looking car!
Here in Australia we have had visits from the original LA DART and LITTLE RED WAGON.
I personally saw the Little Red Wagon run at Calder Park (Victoria)
Great show!!!
They should have rigged the rocking chair up so that when someone sits in it, it leans back all the way and just stays there.
Nice ride Bob remember the old days when Tommy(nephew), Roy and myself (Nova2Dude@ gmail) used to look forward to you coming to Tinley Park to your brothers house and going to US 30, Oswego & other strips with you to race the guys Bill Maverick & telling us how to do crowd pleasing burn outs with bleach when we were younger (1970′s) Are you still in M, Ohio let me know
Man this video was AWSOME!!
This is one more thing that made being born in the 1961′s GREAT ! In 1969 the ‘HEMI under GLASS” and the ‘LITTLE REd WAGON” ruled ! As did the “Snake & Mongoose” show…aka Hot Wheels.
God Bless Bob Riggle a wonderful person and a GREAT AMERICAN ! Thanks for the wonderful memories … He did it for LOVE not money …..
What’s the story with yanks havin their tracks goin downhill!?? Hilarious.

Awesome…It’s unfortunate you cant have fun like they did in 50′s 60′s and 70′s…One of my best friends piloted a dragster with 2 twin small block chevy’s called “Freight Train” his name was Roy “Goober” Tuller……Thanks a million for this video….It inspires me that much more to have my dream car….68 S/S Dodge Dart clone 4 speed of course……
WOW, that was cool, Bob, I always loved to see you when you came up to Hinckleys Dodge in Salt Lake City! having worked there for 9yrs it almost seemed as if you were a part time employee when you showed. Everyone always commented on how friendly you were. 3 generations of my family thank you!
I remember the first time I saw the car 1969 Houston drag way. Man what a car…
Present day nostalgia at its best! Thumbs up!
One of my favorite race cars..ever! Bob Riggle is a class act!
